Question

Ukash virus!!!

Nov 19, 2012 6:42PM PST

I am running windows xp and my daughters computer has picked up ukash virus.
All advice on net says go f8 on boot and go to safe mode and use a removal tool but I can't get into safe mode.
Don't wanna reformat unless I really have to.
Can anyone give me any suggestions please?

is WHY you can't get into Safe Mode. Maybe you press f8 on the wrong moment so you don't get the options menu?
Or maybe you get the options menu, make the right choice, but get some error message?

Turned out the PC had more than one Video Output so the safe mode and menu was on the other video card.
