Question

UHD TV in boardroom - fix resolution to HD to

Sep 7, 2015 6:27PM PDT

Is it possible to set/fix the resolution of a Samsung 65" UHD tv to HD? (don't know exact model number - purchased Feb 2015)

This is because employee laptops work unreliability when connected via HDMI to the UHD TV at 4096 x 2160.

The laptops detects the UHD resolution but nothing is displayed.

Manually setting the laptop to HD (1920x1080) and the image is displayed.

I'm not interested in getting UHD working, but fixing the resolution of a TV or HDMI port (permanently) to HD so when a laptop is connected that is the resolution is 'sees'.

If this is not possible is there some kind of black-box which may help?

You may want to try all the HDMI ports. On some models only one is UHD.

There's no way to set the resolution on the television, as it's more like a monitor so to speak. It can accept up to a certian amount of resoultion, but the device has to output that amount. You can try changing up some settings on the laptop to make sure that it is outputting the proper resolution, and make sure that you are using the proper HDMI cable to send the information. I would recommend a 2.0 version or higher HDMI Cable for higher resolutions.

I hope this helps!
