uh... huh install problem

I was on Windows 98, I booted up in command prompt and re-formatted my C: drive (my main hard disk) and then did the step by step installation of Windows ME. When I finished installing and got onto ME for the first time, inside my computer... I had an extra drive that doesn't exist.

I have:
A: floppy drive
C: main drive with OS
D: data drive WITHOUT any OS
E: -------

the E: doesn't phyiscally exist and it is part of my D: drive in properties, its only 8 mb in capacity... I want to get rid of it, or at least know how the hell it got there.

Thanks in advance,

I'd ask the person who did the install. Formatting the drive is not required for a clean Windows ME install. The installer just needs partitioned space.

If the drive letter is bothersome, you can hide it with TWEAKUI.

In closing, you could share the output of FDISK /STATUS
