1. Extend the warranty and wait the 30 days then call it in.
2. More risky but call it in (this removes option 1) and ask for a one time warranty extension.
Never tell about your cleaning. I had a client that Windex'd their set weekly. Eventually it died of corrosion issues that their old set survived.
Hello Everyone
In February '14 I spent a tidy sum on my UE46F6100 3D HDTV. I've been very happy with it (Other than the lack of HDMI ports) thus far, however yesterday i noticed a strange line appear on the display (See Pictures). It'll be easier to picture the story in a timeline:
4pm Yesterday: Noticed screen was getting filthy when playing some Football Manager, so sprayed on some LED cleaning solution and GENTLY cleaned with a soft cloth
7pm: Noticed a bold green line on my display, while using my PC connected via HDMI. Screen keeps getting darker too, i have to go into Picture settings to return it to normal
8pm: Green line seems to have gone.
10pm: Green line appears again, i cycle through the inputs and notice the green line is visible on all inputs
11pm: Shut off, wait until morning, green line still visible just before shut off
8am This Morning: Green line has now changed to blue, but in same place. Blue line is bolder than green and does not seem to disappear
9am: Blue line still there
11am: Blue line disappears, reappearing every 10 minutes or so, sometimes fainter than others.
I did take some poor quality pictures this morning of the blue line.

Now, i'm fairly sure this problem won't go away on its own, and i'm even more sure that this wasn't down to the clean i did yesterday - i've cleaned it tons of times in the same way and never had issues. I think it's just a coincidence.
I'm out of the 1 year Samsung Warranty period, and there have no comeback on that front. Frankly, i'm furious. I spent good money buying a Samsung because of their reliability and good picture, and it only lasted 18 months? What a joke. I've had a generic unbranded LED TV since 2004 that's still going strong, you get what you pay for? I think not!.
What are my options? Is this is a cheap repair?
As i live in the EU i think i might be covered by the 2 year standard product cover which stretches across all products sold in the EU, but retailers often don't like adhering to that rule.
Any suggestions? Thanks very much!
