UE46B8000 HDMI INPUT PROBLEMS

Hi,I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE HDMI INPUTS,ONLY ONE OF THE FOUR ARE WORKING.I CALLED SAMSUNG AND THEY SAID A FIRMWARE UPGRADE MIGHT CURE THE PROBLEM. WENT TO THE SAMSUNG WEBSITE AND DOWNLOADED LATEST FIRMWARE,PUT IT ON A MEMORY STICK AND TRIED TO UPDATE,TV COULD NOT READ THE STICK.IS THERE A SPECIAL WAY TO DOWNLOAD UPDATE?HAVE TRIED UPDATING FROM THE TV BUT IT WILL NOT GIVE ME THE ONLINE OPTION OR THE CHANNEL OPTION TO DO THIS.ALL HELP GREATLY APPRECIATED....

The firmware is zipped when it's downloaded. Did you unzip the file prior to copying the files to a freshly formatted thumbdrive?

The file wont give me the option to unzip,it is downloaded as an exe file(what ever they are).Could it be that its a macbook pro i am using.and can you tell me why i cant update via the tv,or is this part of the same update issue?

That would explain it. The .exe files are PC executable files, so unless there's a render option for the Mac, I'm not sure how you'd load this.

You may also have to format the drive differently, preferably to a PC-compatible environment.

I don't know why you can't update with the TV. Have you connected it to the Internet with Ethernet? That may be an option.

Hi,thanks for help.did on a pc.updated ok,then lost all hdmi inputs.Spoke to samsung help line and they are sending an engineer out to sort it at their expense.Great service.coming on wednesday.
