UE40F7000SL No audio through HDMI with some devices

by orrutxo / May 21, 2013 5:41 AM PDT

When I connect media players to HDMI inlets (1 to 4) of the TV, the image is perfect but there's no sound.

These same media players (and cables) connected to an old TV sound perfectly.

Adding mistery: when I connect the samsung BD-player to the HDMI inlets of UE40F7000SL, sound exists!

Has anybody experienced this?

Just an idea.

We know that High Def sound may or may not pass. Be sure that all audio is set to stereo to avoid HDCP stopping the audio.

It seems the problem is EDID interoperability between Samsung Smart TV and Popcorn NMT. No idea of how to resolve this.

SOLVED: the TV has an internal parameter EDID only accesible via Service Menu (only for Samsung Technicians). This paramenet is by default OFF. If you change this to: ON v1.3... it sounds!!!
