Ubuntu-firefox-Adobe Flashplayer

Dec 25, 2006 11:39AM PST

So I run Windows xp Pro, and Ubuntu on the same computer, after installing ubuntu things went great for a little while (about five minutes lol) and then I realized that the firefox browser needed the adobe flashplayer plugin. Ok no problem... I downloaded the file , installed it using the command line and opened firefox back up. still no flash... So i used what the software downloading application within ubuntu to see if there was a direct kind of plugin i could use. I downloaded and installed this. Opened up Firefox. When i try to go to Youtube or a site that uses flash, the browser just closes. Doesn't cause any other system instability, just closes firefox. So i was wondering if there was a specific solution to my problem or if there is someway to "unload" firefox of all add on's or plugins?

any help would be appreciated thanks.
