ubuntu 7.10 + wubi = ???

by i-2alive / October 18, 2007 5:37 AM PDT

ok i just downloaded the new ubuntu 7.10. I want to install it hassel free, so i immediately thought of wubi. But before i try that it i need to know, will wubi install ubuntu successfully or is it only campatible with older versions( ie will it cause an installer error etc). I ask this becuase i have no experience about this, i installed unbuntu once on an old pc and it was a pain in the butt, so wubi would help make the time difference(or not, not sure). Bottom line, is wubi compatable with linux?

Is WUBI compatible with all linux distros?
by ahtoi / October 19, 2007 2:38 AM PDT

If it is compatible, I have not seen it.

As for Ubuntu 7.10, why not give it a try, and you can be the first to tell us about it. Have fun!

i tried it and it went to download ubuntu 7.04 instead of using 7.10, so its not compatible, i guess i either istall it my self or wait for a new wubi.

Very Easy

Ubuntu 7.10 is easier to install than Windows - fewer questions during install.

Place the CD/DVD in the drive and boot up. 7.10 is both a live CD and installation CD.

Once the Live CD boots up, just click Install on the desktop.
Answers a few questions, and off you go to install.
