U.S. Urges Citizens to Leave Saudi Arabia

Dec 17, 2003 9:56AM PST

I hope this doesn't mean the administration is thinking of a possible war in Saudi Arabia. Sad

There have been terrorist attacks all along and they didn't put out this advisory.

Nonessential American diplomats and the families of all U.S. officials in Saudi Arabia should leave, the State Department said Wednesday, stepping up its warnings about risks in the country. Private U.S. citizens also should consider departing, the department said. Americans making plans to go to Saudi Arabia were advised to defer any such travel in light of "the potential for further terrorist activities."U.S. Urges Citizens to Leave Saudi Arabia

Difficult to say from that warning Rosalie

It could be for either reason.
If Saudi Arabia harbours terrorists then it may well come to some sort of military action.
Bush has spelt it out quite clearly what he will do if countries are found to support terrorists.
We have terrorists in England but we do not support them, and there's the difference.

there is already a war going on in Saudi Arabia. So far the terrorist are winning. Hard to fight an enemy you can't see or find.

a bomb is carried by an innocent looking citizen.
This form of warfare appears to be favourite among the Arabs, but that is no comfort if you are on the receiving end.
You're right though, it's already going on Sad

Rosalie, it sounds like "State-speak" for we have information that leads to believe that there is a high probability of more terrorist attacks.

Possibly, Rosalie...

Rosalie, possibly that the intel shows probable attack on residential buildings. In that case, trying to lessen the number of people in those buildings might be in order. Yes, there have been attacks in the past, but it could be not the fact that more attacks are expected, but upon what they may be directed.

Man will eventually have to choose between war and peace. He can't have both at the same time. And since war only begets more war ...............

Right now to experience real peace it will have to be the peace within ourselves.

I think you're wise to be concerned. The administration has made it clear that they are in this until the threat, as it sees it, is over.
