TX-P50ST60 NeoPlasma; Poor picture quality!

by tjelkeR / April 18, 2014 8:16 AM PDT

Hello there!

I'm from Sweden, so my English isn't perfect but I think you'll understand what I've written Happy

I've always been interested in buying a Plasma TV and after watching my brothers new (or new a few months ago) plasma TV I decided that I wanted one aswell. After alot of research I settled with the TX-P50ST60 NeoPlasma, good reviews and it had everything I wanted in my new TV.

When I installed my TV I instantly felt that something was not right. Thou it was on daytime and the sun it was very bright I decided to wait till dark. It was an improvement (plasma aren't performing as good as it can do in daylight) but still, I wasn't satisfied with the quality of the picture. I took the time tweaking different settings such as the blackness, gamma, colour saturasion and so on. but I couldn't get it to be as sharp as TV in this priceclass can be. The quality of the picture was alot worse than my brothers TV even thou my TV was one or two priceclasses above it.

My problems are, till this day, is that the picture is are abit blurry, lacks sharpness and crisp. The colours almost blend into each other (a poor example; the first episode when Tyrion pours wine onto the floor it didn't look like wine, it was more or less brown).

The black in any plasma should outclass any LCD/LED tv, but in my black you notice different pixles are almost flashing white. It's almost like the pixles "forgets" that it should be dark. I don't know if you understand what I mean with the ants war (myrornas krig in Swedish, widely used), but you know when you dont have any TV channel on and it's all black and white. Imagine this, but only a teeny tiny little bit that is glued to my TV. You can't see it, but it bugs you out.

I have returned every setting back to normal and no extra setting like "100hz mode" or whatever is on.

This is how me and my brothers set it up:
Mediaplayer -hdmi-> amplifier -hdmi-> TV
or; computer -hdmi->amplifier -hdmi-> TV

I only watch top quality, blu-ray movies.
I use HDMI3 cables and my graphics card is GTX 780.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
