Question

Two very dull areas Samsung HP-T4264

by troll666 / August 21, 2011 10:34 PM PDT

I have two large dull areas on my Samsung 42" Plasma HP-T4264.
I have used the tools in the menu..White, Scrolling & Side Gray for hours and no change.
The dull areas are located in the bottom left & bottom right of the screen. They look like curved waves, and the picture is out of focus in these areas.

As the TV is 4 years old there is no warranty and Samsung told me to take it to a dealer for evaluation. This will probably be expensive if it can be repaired at all. Has anyone seen or heard of this? Any suggestions? Thanks

Thanks HDTech.
The tv has never had a computer or game console hooked up to it. The TV is on approx 14 hours a day every day.
I can take some photos of the areas that are dull if you would like to see what these areas look like.
They are very noticable on a white screen.
These showed up about 6 months ago. The only thing I can think of that I have done to this tv over the years is during a power outage, I had it running on a generator for 6-8 hours, but the areas didn't show up for approx 6 months after this.
If it is one of the boards, which board would possibly cause this?
I know the tv's are quite cheap today, but I paid $1600.00 for this 4 years ago, and hate to give up without trying something.
Thanks.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
