two users load their separate music on an MP3 player in WMP?

Jul 25, 2009 4:43AM PDT

Is there a way to create separate libraries in WMP? My son and I each have a music player but want to load different music. He insists that my player will "sync" all his music onto my player. I just want to load some CD's onto mine. Is this possible or do I have to use some other music app. I don't have a clue about this stuff, son is not much better. I do all the "fixing" of the computer related stuff. But the music area is foreign to me. Any help and suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!

Having your own user accounts on the pc? Or try making one big playlist with all of your music and one for his music and then just sync the playlist.

Creating another account on the computer is not feasible(I have enough trouble keeping the "guys" from screwing things up-"what? I don't know what happened! These boxes came up and I just hit no or yes, I don't remember...then it just stopped working. Can you fix it?" Having to have passwords and user accounts would just give me a headache....not helpful. I think I can use another program with my player maybe MediaMonkey or Winamp. I'll have to check out some other programs. thanks for the suggestions.

Without user accounts this can't be done.

You'll have to take it up with Microsoft why this is the way it is.

Sorry that accounts are not usable.

your current set up is a recipe for disaster

Give the kids a limited standard account so they can't d/l anything or change settings. You all shouldn't be using the admistrator account. I'm not sure if that's what you're doing...but if you only have one user account you probably are. And no wonder why things get screwed up. If you have a separate administrator account for yourself, you can always reset their passwords.
