Two questions about Vista

Sep 7, 2007 4:30AM PDT

One I noticed I have two Program Files sections. One called ?Program Files?, and another one called ?Program Files (x86).? Sense I have Vista Ultimate 64-bit I thought maybe the x86 section was for 32-bit applications? But it seems like a lot of the stuff is in both sections? (Mostly Microsoft Applications that comes with windows).

Can I delete one of these? Which one?

Next, I have wireless networked in my house. For some reason I have to tell Vista to connect to the Wireless network each time I boot. But in XP it automatically connects when Windows Starts. Is there a way for me to set Vista up so it well connect automatically to my Wireless network?

Thanks

Don't delete either...

The 64-bit editions separate the programs into 32-bit and 64-bit folders to differentiate them and somewhat simplify the process of determining which to execute. Deleting either will result in a lot of your programs ceasing to function, so it's best left alone.

As to the connection matter, I would start with this troubleshooting guide. Also, did your computer come with Vista preinstalled or is it an upgrade/clean installations? (Sometimes drivers can have such an effect.)

Thats what I thought about double files...

I bought Vista and installed it on a new machine I build myself?
I was thinking maybe because of some security that Vista didn't want to connect to my wireless. I was hoping to turn that off.
