Question

Two Different Outlook Contacts Lists???

Apr 15, 2014 11:16AM PDT

Hello all, I Am wondering if I can create a 2nd Outlook Contacts list in my Outlook2007?

The reason I want to do this is, I need to back-up a 2nd phone, business use, and do not want to co-mingle the contacts with my personal phone and calendar.

What is the process I go about to perform this? My business phone is a BB and personal phone is a SG5.

Or any other suggestions to get this done???

TIA - bo1953

While it can have groups, all contacts share a single database.

And then... I remembered.

Now this can be hard to implement but as you know each Windows account can have it's own Outlook database and as such, you could do this another way but that would seem tedious for most. But I forgot to mention this so I added this note.

Re: backup phone

As far as I know, contacts in Outlook are stored in its .pst file.

So what I would do:
- exit Outlook
- rename outlook.pst (or whatever it's called) to, say, myownloutlook.pst
- run Outlook, it creates an empty .pst file
- backup the phone
- exit Outlook
- rename outlook.pst to, say, mybusinessoutlook.pst
- rename myownoutlook.pst to outlook.pst

That's the first time. I leave it to you to change it so i can be used the next time(s) you want to backup that business phone.
