by meet_kareem / August 21, 2006 11:24 PM PDT

Using Windows 2000 Professional.
Rogers-Yahoo Hi speed Internet.

When I run a scan from Norton or Spybot I get this continual two beep sound all the time.
How can I disable this sound.
Thanks..........Peter

I'd rather fix it.

The usual beeps from a PC could indicate the unit is getting too hot. For a desktop PC a simple test is to remove the side cover and see if the beeps stop. If they do a cleaning is required.

Temperature & Two Beeps

In reply to: I'd rather fix it.

Thanks for the advice Bob. The temperature around my CPU (Tower) is between 25 and 30 degrees C.
I cover my system with a cover every night so it may be unlikely that the inside is dirty.
However I hear what you say.
When I have cleaned out the inside & there is still the Two Beeps, is there any other suggestion you have for me.
Thanks...........Peter

The dust is collected when the machine is on.

There are many that were unaware of the need for the insides and the heatsinks to be cleaned off yearly or so. Notebook owners are even more surprised.
