tvDebug?

Dec 22, 2003 8:33PM PST

I have this text file called tvDebug (which is about 10MBs at the moment) in my Windows>Internet logs folder along with lots and lots of other text files which are Zone Alarm logs i think. I tried to look up tvdebug on the internet using google and was directed to a forum (http://forums.spywareinfo.com/index.php?showtopic=22828&st=0) which spoke about this in some detail but didnt make much sense to me unfortunately.

I would be very grateful if someone could explain to me in simpler terms what this is, why i need it on my computer and if i dont - is it safe to get rid of it? What about the ZA logs - do i need to keep them all (they are taking up 19MBs on my hard drive)

Thanks for any info anyone can give Happy

(NT) I read it. And "It is simply a startup/shutdown log" made sense to me.

I no longer run ZA but as I recall ZA keeps a number of logs.

If you look in the ZA options you can set some limits on the log sizes.

All except the debug log.

I think what I use to do was every so often go in and manually clean the thing.

I don't use ZONE ALARM, but searching the net I came up with the following.

http://forums.techguy.org/t128272/s4752770a473af3b76974a60050857fd8.html
"The folder Internet Logs is created by ZoneAlarm.

BTW From Explorer, go to Tools > Folder Options > View tab and ensure that you have "Show All Files" selected, and UNselect "Hide File Extensions for Known File Types".

Now, under that folder you will normally find a LDB file, named after your computer name, and a lamdb.rdb file. These are the ZA main files.
You may also find a Backup.rdb file, tvdebug.log and ZAlog.txt file.

The latter is logging all ZA alerts, if you have this selected and can be removed it not needed.
TvDebug.log file can be deleted. If you don't do this periodically, this file will continually grow larger."

As stated, it is a logging file that is suppose to keep track of all of the "HITs" on your machine using Zone Alarm.
