Question

Tv with lock by time

Feb 28, 2016 2:29PM PST

I own a 65 inch Mitsubishi television with a lock by time feature. I set the hours the tv can be watched and the only way the tv can be turned on is with a lock code. Mitsubishi no longer makes tvs and this is a great feature for those with kids/teens.
I am looking for a manufacturer with this feature on a 32 inch or smaller tv. Anyone know of one?

Answer
Also known as parental controls.

Beware that it's too easy to bypass. On every model I was able to google up a reset.

Dead end according to the web.

Works well for me

Yes, it is a parental control, but one that has worked really well for me. If there is a hack my teen, who is pretty smart with technology hasn't found it. To reset with this model, must have the remote, and I keep that locked away.

Then there may be too many out there.

Pick a model and then check it's specs and manual for parental controls.

Went to Bestbuy and had the salesperson check several models with remote. Some have on/off timer but not locked.

Amazing.

So no one has a working parental control today. I guess you'll have to find another one like you had. Ebay?

Yes, guess I'm out of luck.

It's 65 inches and I'm looking for bedroom size. Oh well, looks like he's (my son) is out of luck.
