Question

TV Tuner Card That Will Let Me Record Digital Signals

Nov 22, 2016 5:42PM PST

I have a desktop that has a TV Tuner Card in it that let me record shows from my cable service onto my hard drive. Recently they switched to all digital and we had to get a new box to receive this new signal. Now I cannot record onto my hard drive. I always used Windows Media Center to do this. Is there another TV Tuner Card that will allow me to continue to record onto my hard drive. I like doing this as if I like a show I can burn it right to a DVD. I tried different types of hookups and even had the tech from the company out and he said I cannot do this anymore. Is there a work around that will allow me to continue recording?

Sounds like DRM has kicked in.

A work around would involve a hack which we cannot discuss here.

I have several questions. Nothing illegal. Just general.

And she still uses it for recording from FIOS by using the Standard Definition DTR device that comes from Verizon, rent is about $7. Or can get a set top box that also can get the SD.
