TV Tuner Card and Vista Ultimate

Aug 21, 2007 12:11PM PDT

Hello -

I have a desktop pc running Vista Ultimate. I recently bought a Diamond Xtreme TV PVR660 usb 2.0 to run my satellite tv through the computer. The TV tuner is an external device. I set everything up, with the cable running from the wall to the cable box, which runs to the PVR and then to a USB slot. The included software for the PVR is not Vista compliant (and I was told would not be). Diamond recently added Vista drivers to its site for download for the PVR which worked fine. Diamond told me that the included remote will not be updated for Vista.

I installed the drivers and went to Media Center. I went through the "set up TV" option and everything worked fine through the first few steps. I even saw the picture from the TV on my computer as I was supposed to. Then I got to the next step. It asked me for my IR Receiver and said that one was not detected. I assume they want a remote or something, but the remote that came with the PVR is not Vista compliant (and will not be) and I do not know how to work around this problem and I need help. Any ideas are welcome. Thank you in advance.
