tv tuner and laptop

by tms99 / July 14, 2005 12:08 PM PDT

I was looking for a laptop with media center, but was wondering if it wouldn't just be worth it to get regular XP and buy an external tv tuner to install?? It's hard to find a laptop with Media Center AND 256 mb of video memory! At a reasonable price....

Like i said Dell 9300, but now you want an external tv tuner. It's cheaper if you do that, but windows media center will be better.

That integration with Windows Media Center will be IFFY to impossible after the fact. You will not see me suggesting a person make their own Windows Media Center (WMC) on a destop due to the integration difficulties. I've witnessed this far too many times as the builder finds out that what works is on a short unpublished list.

However, the usual USB 2.0 TV card/device does work find in WMC, just it may not be integrated in the WMC software.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
