TV screen black when i want

Nov 8, 2008 2:08AM PST

I have the Samsung HPT5054 tv and the Samsung 1500P DVD and want to have the screen blank without that annoying flashing "Samsung" darting around the screen when i am play a CD for the enjoyment of the music only.

Is there a way to disable the tv screen or get that Samsung logo to go away?

Display Setup

You might check the Setup > Display menu. There is an option to turn off "Screen Message", but I'm not sure if that will disable the screen-saver for your unit.

The purpose if that moving logo is to avoid burn-in or damage to your screen for static images.

Let me know, and I'll run it by one of our other techs on Monday.

making the screen go blank (black) on my 50" plasma tv 5450
Nov 10, 2008 8:38AM PST

I know the reason for the movement of the logo and that is a good thing. BUT the logo on the otherwise black screen - while i am listening to a cd, is way too bright and annoying. So, if possible i would like to have the screen simply blank until i change the source back to tv (HDMI#1).

I will try again next Thursday but I am out of town until then.

thanks for your patience with me and for answering me. I hope you can tell me how to just make the screen go blank while i listen to a cd on source HDMI#2.

Exhausted possibilities....

Unfortunately, I've exhausted ever possible way to disable that feature. I confirmed it with Service last week, who even asked one of the designers.

Unfortunately there's no way to disable it. However, you can still play a CD without the television turning on by disabling Anynet.

Hope that helps and works as a solution for you.
