Looks mostly like the typical variance in source material from various providers. Especially with 'patchiness' that you are illustrating here. Understand, they often compress/re-transmit what they get so it fits within their systems. This can often be a lose-lose for us consumers ![]()
As usually, try another cable/sat box, look at other HDMI ports, reset HDTV picture settings, and if you are brave, perform a factory reset.
I have also, FWIW, changed power strips/outlets which made slight differences on certain types of content/channels/color schemes. Messy? Yes. But perhaps worth testing if you have time and don't want to wait for firmware updates ![]()
