TV (LE40A786|796) problem or big problem

Aug 6, 2009 2:08AM PDT

Hi.
I own TV (LE40A786|796) for 2 days, and yesterday discovered problem.
Can you PLEASE help me to find out, what it is, and what do I do?
I went for this previews version of LED TV, just because I don't really need all this media extra stuff, and slim design is that important for me. What is important is image performance (back LED instead of edge LED).
Back light of screen is not even. Black is fantastic, but with white or all light colors I got problem - got one darker spot - size 10x6cm.
(How do I upload pictures? It will be easy to understand what I mean.)
THANKS in advance.

Me again.
Sorry, I was posting first message in a hurry, and made some mistakes. Plus it was difficult to understand, what I want. Here I'll try again:

Hi.
This is my first post on forum, and I would be very grateful for your help.
I own TV (LE40A786|796) just for 2 days, and yesterday discovered one problem:

Light pefrormance of screen is not even. Black is fantastic, but when it is something lighter screen has a problem - one dark big spot on the left lower side (size around 10x6cm).
I made some single color pictures to test TV, and its became very obvious (specially if you look from sides) that TV has a problem.
I am not sure if it's screen, or some electronic problem.
I went for this, previous version of LED TV, just because I don't really need all this media extra stuff, and slim design is NOT that important for me. But WHAT IS IMPORTANT is image performance (local dimming LED instead of edge LED).

(I would like to post my test shots here, but how do I upload pictures to the forum? It will be much easier for you to understand what I mean.)

Can you PLEASE help me to find out, what kind of problem it is, and what should I do? Is it something which can be fixed (not by me Happy )?
Whom should I contact first, dealer or Samsung service?

MANY THANKS in advance.

serfersha,

Welcome to the forum, and I'm sorry to hear that you're having these issues. If you just recently purchased the unit, I would definitely go back to the retailer and see if they can exchange it or be willing to work with you on the issue. The other option is to call the Samsung customer service in your area and arrange for a repair. Exchanging it will probably be your best bet, however. I'm not aware of any settings that would fix screen uniformity issues.
