Preserving the aspect ratio means that you lose the left and right side of the movie. That's somewhat unpleasant also. But I agree that it's best to have the choice, Apparently this model doesn't offer that, athough I didn't check the user manual. I assume you did.
If you don't like it, return it for one that has the zoom modes you prefer.
Why does the Standard Zoom just zoom vertically, ending up with an image where things are stretched thin?
Surely if want to zoom into a widescreen film to remove top and bottom bars quickly, the image should zoom vertically and horizontally to preserve the aspect ratio?
What is standard zoom therefore used for?
If do long-press on zoom you only get option to adjust vertical and position, again what is point of that, without stretching the image vertically?
My old TV used to have zoom1, zoom2 etc, which zoomed both vertical and horizontal together.
Am I missing something?
