Resolved Question

tv+fm radio capability

Sep 15, 2011 8:32AM PDT

I am running Win 7. I wish to access and record programming from different radio stations, e.g. NPR, BBC, various international broadcasts. Will windows media center allow me to do this without a special tuner card installed? Is there software available to enable easy access to different stations? Happy

Unlikely. But here I can get to NPR via their web site.

And it streams so no need for Windows Media Center? Maybe BBC and other stations are on the web too?

Thanx again Mr. Proffitt,

I am attempting to record radio programs from Internet radio for transfer to cd-rw for my 93 year old mother in her nursing home. She gets quit bored and I must provide diversions.

I am uncertain if Windows Media Center will allow this. I will try it and see what happens.

Thank you again.

I received an Ion usb turntable from my brother with the intention of transcribing (not copying) my old vinyl LPs to cd, so I have already downloaded Audacity. My brother recommended this, but then he is a professional record producer. Program looks rather complex to me, but with further I will figure it out.

Thanx for the info.

I have been attempting to use Auacty with my Win 7 desktop, but TTUSB (Ion) it is not recognized. It is recognized by the computer itself.
I may need updated drivers, but so far have been unable to locate them.
I will start looking for a less complicated program without the extensive sound editing capabilities of Audacity.

I never had to update my drivers.

Here Audacity records what I hear. Could not be simpler.

Audacity editing (here) consists of snipping off the extra and the beginning and end and saving the work.

I doubt for this much money it can get any easier.
