TV doesn't recognze PC

by ssheftall / September 16, 2008 4:26 PM PDT

Trying to connect my PC to my Samsung Digital TV.

Connection via a 25ft., SVGA cable.

TV = HL-T5687S

Computer = Gateway, AMD Turion chip with Nvidia Geoforce GO 6100.

PC "sees" Samsung (has Samsung in the video controls). Samsung doesn't see PC. PC not available in any of the menus or by using Source button.

Help.

The signaling used to identify the display (I won't discuss it here) can be corrupted as you go beyond the usual lengths of cable. Next time look into supportable cable lengths and maybe HDMI connections since you are under 50 feet.

Thanks for the reply Bob. I was afraid that was the case. Do you know what is an acceptable length? 10ft.?, 15ft.? I'd hate to go below 10 but would go to 6 if I had to.

Thanks again for the help.
