TV Cards

by mas6780 / January 22, 2008 11:41 AM PST

I want to know if i buy a tv pci card if i can plug my cable line into it and watch tv on my monitor? Will it play throught the video card that i have in my computer? I have a nvidia 6800 GS. Or will i have to plug a monitor directly into the pci card?

Also what is a good one to get if i want to watch tv and record tv as well? It would be real nice if it came with a remote as well...... BUt i this might be wishful thinking.

I have an AMD, with 1.5 gigs of ram, 500 gigs of hd, do they have one that i can install that will convert the analog signal into a HD signal?

Can my video card support the HD signal?

Thank you for youe time and your help

Its an older ATI card. You can probably get one for $30 or so. It is will replace your AGP slot. So if you can find a cheapo computer online and a KVM switch... you are in business.
