Over the past say 5 years we've seen makers install speakers that are pretty cheap. All the makers cut the costs there since they expect everyone to get receivers and sound bars.
But this is 7 years old so that doesn't apply here. It sounds as if the analog amplifier is failing. If this TV has OPTICAL OUTPUT then the cheap fix is to get a soundbar and connect it with the OPTICAL CABLE.
I was recently gifted a 42" LG LCD TV that is about 7 years old, and I've started to notice a couple issues with it. The most irritating of these is that at moments of high-volume (explosions, etc.) the audio crackles and makes viewing almost unbearable. I thought this would be an easy fix by hooking the TV up to my receiver and simply using my stereo speakers, but this is not the case. The audio still crackles at these same moments (and sounds even worse coming through surround sound).
Is anybody familiar with this problem? I assume the issue is not the speakers, but with a chip that controls the audio (I'm making this up as I go). Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.
