Turning back on security centre...simple...or should be...

Jan 3, 2006 8:55PM PST

For some reason unknown to me the security centre that is provided with XP2 has just stopped working. It claims that 'the security centre is currently unavailable because it has not started or has been stopped.' It advises me to restart my computer or start the secuirty service, both of which have had no effect. I have microsoft antispyware running but no other security programs with a firewall. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Don't actually have any antivirus software, I just rely on the windows security centre and I have a version of microsoft antispyware beta1.

You really need one, try Avast or AVG, they're both free.

Monkey, Time To Check For Viruses Online
Jan 4, 2006 7:46AM PST

Please follow the steps in the links below:

First, click on either, or both of the links below and run the free online virus scans they provide:

Housecall Online Scanner

Panda Online Scanner

Once that's done, then download, install, update, then run the free trojan/spyware removal tools from the link below. (You should also run the Ewido scanner while in Safe Mode.):

Ewido Security Suite

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes.
