Three things to do:
1. Check event log to see if that tells something about the cause.
2. Boot from a Linux disc or stick (free to make) to see if it's the same there.
3. Disable all programs in the startup tab of msconfig (pre-windows 10) or task manager (windows 10) and reboot. Any difference?

Next time restore it to factory condition. If that fails, the laptop needs repair.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
