For me I installed another file browser/manager. There are many out there.
Bob
I am trying to organize files using Windows Explorer from Windows 7. I thought it would be the same as Windows XP but I am an idiot for thinking that Windows Explorer would be the same as it was in Windows XP. Windows 7 added unnecessary and unwanted features to Windows Explorer that I disable. I don't want them. I want to organize the files like I could with Windows XP. For example. When I organized my pictures with Windows XP, I moved them all into the same folder. I opened this folder and created new folders inside this folder (I guess they are called subfolders) and then I would move similar pictures into the same (sub)folder.
<span style="font-size: 14.4799995422363px;">But it looks like Windows 7 groups everything together by file type (such as .jpeg) in the folder AND its subfolders. I don't know where the file is actually located unless I right click and click on "Properties".

<span style="font-size: 14.4799995422363px;">I thought what was being displayed in Windows Explorer is all the pictures (.jpeg files) in the main folder that HADN'T been moved to a subfolder yet. But I am pretty sure that it is displaying EVERYTHING the folder AND its subfolders. If I tried to organize something in this ridiculous Windows Explorer layout, I would make the files MORE disorganized.

Please tell me how to turn off these stupid features with Windows 7. I want to view what's in a folder EXACTLY HOW IT IS. I don't want to move these files back to Windows XP because my only Windows XP computer is a tiny 10 inch netbook compared to my 17 inch(?) Widescreen laptop.
