Turn off "Tweets" on CNET home page...

Feb 14, 2011 1:06AM PST

Is there a way for me to turn off those detestable "Tweets" on the CNET home page? It hurts me to see them. I mean, I like scanning the list of articles, but the tweets? How utterly meanginless.

Of course, after posting, I found the On/Off button...

In the Latest on CNET bar at the top of the headlines. Look to the right.
There you will see the despicable "Tweets" On/Off button.
This should be permanently set to Off in order to avoid despicable "Tweets".

Two quick notes...

1.) Only tweets from CNET editors appear there, so you shouldn't find anything objectionable, though the value of the tweets is certainly debatable.
2.) Turning off the tweets will set a cookie in your browser. That means you need not be logged in to disable tweets, but you'll need to click the button again if your switch browsers/computers, or if you clear your cookies.

Hope this helps,
John
