Question

Turn down volume key working, but raise up volume not

Aug 4, 2016 7:53AM PDT

Hello, I've use the keyboard shortcut FN + F9 to raise up my laptop's volume for about a year, I could also lure down brightness FN + F6 raise up brightness FN + F7 and lure down volume FN + F8.

Recently, I've only been able to lure down my volume, all other keyboard shortcuts won't work, I did a keyboard tester to check if these keys were broken, but It said that they worked. I use these a lot when watching youtube vids with different volumes, and when my battery is low, does anyone know what the problem is, I changed my keyboard region in the settings but it didn't fix it.

Not much of a story.

I take it this is a new laptop and not working. It's a warranty issue and as such you use what applies to how new. If just a day or so old you take it back to the store for a working model. If outside the exchange date, you call the maker for a fix or repair.

That's the thing this laptop is a year or more old, and I've been using these shortcuts the whole time, it just change around a week ago, I haven't installed anything that I know of.

Either try installing the helper apps from Asus that your model uses or do a factory recovery.

I find many folk lost when it comes to those helper apps. Helper apps provide machine control from keyboard to things like WiFi on/of and volume control since that's not part of the OS from Microsoft.
