Tumbling Tumble Weeds

We've had a couple of "windy" days. Sustained winds at 30 to 35 mph, with gusts to 50.

Among the debri and dust, are the Tumble Weeds. They cross the highways unintimidated by vehicles. When they hit the side of a car at 30 mph, they cause "scratches".

They even end up in yards, etc.

To give you an idea, here's Judi at the corner about 50 feet from the front door.

tumble weeds. We were bombarded a few years ago while traveling through the southern part of your state. Luckily was able to dodge them, but did see some specular crashed against large 18 wheelers.

but Del is correct about the scratches.

My Plant Pest instructor says they were introduced in early 1900s by the Feds as drought control(!)
Therefore, most Western movies that show them are historically inaccurate.
