TT won't recognize my computer

Mar 4, 2011 1:33AM PST

I have installed TT 3 times on Win7. TT says that I have 5 updates available. when I try to see what they are I get this message, "please register a computer to see updates". I have tried that but was already a CNET member.

Hello efxpert,

I have converted your post into a proxy ticket in our support system so that we may better assist you; you should receive an e-mail to let you know that the ticket has been submitted, and another e-mail will alert you to our response, which you may expect within one business day.

In the future, you may submit support tickets directly through our support web site by following these steps:

1. Go to http://cnet.custhelp.com
2. Click on the "E-mail Support" tab.
3. Enter the e-mail address associated with your account.
4. From the "Category:" drop-down menu, choose the "CNET TechTracker" option, and the "TechTracker General" sub-option.
5. Fill in the subject line and the "Details:" section.
6. Click the "Submit Question" button, and please be sure to follow through to the final confirmation page!

Thanks,
Gregg

Converting a question to a proxy ticket doesn't help the rest of us ... I've read MULTIPLE posts where that's been the case but then the thread isn't updated with any resolution.

Why some questions are converted into proxy tickets
Dec 20, 2011 1:48AM PST

Hi wsmithsharp,

We apologize for any inconvenience here, but some issues, like this one, require that we gather specific information from each affected user, so it is best to proceed by private support ticket for each individual case. We do include instructions for submitting support tickets in our "proxy ticket created" responses, in part to encourage others to contact us that way. It is the best way to ensure a fast response to any issue you may be having.

Regards,
Jen
