There is an autofix feature...
A buddy gave me an old laptop with hard drive problems. I don't care about preserving data or anything like that. I just want to fix any errors I can, reformat and reinstall Windows.
I can get to a DOS prompt with a boot disk and want to run Scandisk and do a surface scan on the hard drive. Every time it finds a bad sector I get a prompt to fix but I don't care about the undo changes disk. Is there a way to automatically fix all changes and proceed without the skip undo every time? If I use the /autofix switch it still stops on the surface scan. I know there are plenty of bad sectors but I don't want to spend a day hitting Enter to fix and S to skip.
