Try removing the D: partition and try the restore media again. That message is consistent with Disk to Disk recovery (aka D2D) so starting with a blank drive tells the restore media to start fresh.
And if there is a missing CD, get it on order from Asus today.
I'm trying to restore this laptop, and the problem I'm encountering is that it is asking for a "Driver CD"
I have 2 recovery CDs, and both don't seem to work for this. The message that pops up is:
"Can not open file D:\I386\RECOVERY.DAT"
I'm ready to smash the laptop lol.
