Trying to into TRISQUEL on hp pavilion a235.uk....

I have downloaded the DVD for the installation and all the hardware works ok with my xp hard drive. i bought a new hard drive and simply tried to install by putting the dvd in the dvd drive at start up. All i got was :
"problem with installation"
Is there something simple that i am doing wrong with a linux installation?
If someone could give me afew pointers then i would be eternally gratefull.

I think you should try more mainstream distribution, here list of suggestions:
Ubuntu, Mint, Mandriva, Fedora, OpenSUSE Wink
