Question

Trying to go to router settings takes me to modem settings

Aug 7, 2016 2:03PM PDT

I'm trying to access the settings for my wireless router, however every time I go to the local IP address it instead takes me to the settings for the modem connected to it. Is there any way that I can instead access the router?

If it's relevant, the router I have is a linksys e1200 and the modem is a ubee DVW32CB.

Answer
This sounds like the router is setup as a WAP.

I usually can tell because the ethenet from model to router is on a LAN port.

Yes, looking into it this does seem to be the case.

Does that mean that the linksys router wouldn't have settings of its own to configure?

It means the router is at some other address.

I usually put the "router as the WAP" at 192.168.0.100 but ask the person that set this up.
