by valeriekaren / October 13, 2010 7:34 AM PDT

So, I bought DVD R's and I know the movie I wanted to burn onto it worked because it will play from my computer but it wont play on any DVD players. It says error. I used Nero to put in on there. What is it I have to do to get it to play on a DVD player?

Not all DVD players will play these formats.

Re getting movie to a DVD

The DVD you created did not work on a DVD player because what you have created was most probably a "data DVD", i.e. a copy of the move file.... To create a move DVD playable on a DVD player, you need to "Author" the DVD, i.e. cretae DVD files which can be reconized by a DVD player... You need a DVD authoring program....such as those offered by COREL[DVD Factory]....or the free "DVD Flick".

Anyway, your present DVD burning program may have a tool for creating a DVD of "DVD movie" - have you tried that ?
