Trying to download adobe reader, but....

May 15, 2005 2:08PM PDT

I bought a new printer so my old lady could print files from her hobby job, which uses PDF format.

I am trying to download acrobat reader 6.0.1, but the downloading has stopped showing the following message:
Please choose the program you wish to use to open the file 'AdbeRdr60_enu_full.dmg'

I have never herd of a '.dmg' file and do not know what program to use to open with..

I understand that you all do not know what is on my comp. unless I list them (and that would take to long). So can anyone explain what a .dmg file is or the most common ways to exicute such a program.

I have: a pentium II, win98 se, cable modem, router, etc. all working fine(to the best of my knowledge).

Any help would be much appreciated....
Thanks C.E. stretch

Is a .dmg file only supposed to on Mac?...
May 16, 2005 12:35AM PDT

The computer I have is a IBM, Pentium II, with win98se on it. Does this make a difference? Am I trying to get a Mac only file?

I have two other machines, (both 'pentium's with win98 se) of which I have succsessfully downloaded the reader onto but it will not run the printer properly...
Pentium I, with 60/80 Mb RAM (respectivly); whereas the printer requires a Pentium II, w/128 Mb RAM.

Should I just build a better computer? Is there any sites that will tell me the requirements of most programs so I know what to build? I have done lots of trouble shooting latley and am feeling confident enough to build my own.

Thanks for any help you can give. Stretch
