Question

Trying to do a clean install of windows 10

Mar 14, 2016 4:35AM PDT

... but the windows media creation tool isnt recognizing my seagate backup plus drive as a place to create the files in. My computer recognizes the drive and everything seems to be working okay, but the windows media creation tool refuses to have it as an option to throw the new windows into. Any tips to help this?

That's by design. You can't install Windows on an external disk, only on an internal one. You might need a change of plan.

Well, i am trying to just throw the windows unstallation files on my USB and then reinstall windows completely clean on my pc, but the windows media creation tool wont recognize my usb memory as something i could throw them into. So, would it work on a normal usb stick then?
