Xenoch,

Welcome to the forums.

Either set is a great set to have.

1. You can do DVI straight through to DVI, however, you'll have to patch your audio in one of the specific HDMI ports that has audio inputs requiring I believe a 3.5mm (PC) to RCA cable (back of television). Some users have noted that the picture leaves a bar on one side or the other, and that's an issue with the DVI output, and rare, but I wouldn't necessarily rule it out.

You can either get an HDMI cable with a DVI converter, or a cable that actually has HDMI on one side and the DVI on the other. (They do exist!) Either way should yield the same results.

There should be no degradation of picture quality, since it would be assigned pixel-for-pixel. Many users also report that VGA does very well also.

You might want to take your laptop and give the store display model a test run so you know beforehand. Happy

2. Impact on PC/Xbox will be a picture improvement. Some game cutscenes run on 24fps, which will divide evenly into 120Hz. Most computers run at 60Hz (recommended) which will also divide evenly into 120Hz.

3. The difference between the 6 and 7 Series is the 7-Series has DNLA capabilities (PC included) for streaming videos, and the Content Library which has some built in games, stories, recipes, etc.) There is also a cosmetic difference. Some people who are up in the air look at the style of both units and make their decision that way also.

4. Your PC - make sure you update to the most current BIOS.

Let me know if I can help any further.
