Trying to change my profile....

Jul 9, 2007 3:04AM PDT

I just noticed when I copied and pasted a post in Virus and Security to email, that in the email it showed my old Earthlink email address. I went to change it to my current add. and it showed that it was already on file. How do I change it to my current, and delete my old? It doesn't seem to give me an option to do this. Anyone have a solution?....Maggie

(NT) You need to edit the account, not the profile.

OK, now I'm getting frustrated!!
Jul 10, 2007 1:34AM PDT

I've done everything to update my email add. Nothing I do will allow me to do this. I even tried setting up a new account, and it says my usfamily add is already in use. It seems like I'm stuck with my old earthlink add. I haven't had earthlink in a long, long time. I have tried the suggestions given in earlier posts, and nothing works. Does anyone have a solution?? Please?.....Maggie

I can't even track any posts, because notifications are sent to my old earthlink add., which doesn't exist anymore....Maggie

Try changing the e-mail address on the membership page to one other than the earthlink or usfamily addresses. If you need to just create a dummy Yahoo e-mail address and use it. Wait for the confirmation e-mail, then change it to the usfamily e-mail address again. Once that's been confirmed try e-mailing a copy of a post to yourself using the e-mail a friend option, along with a personal copy by checking the "Send me a copy of this message" box, and see if both copies are sent to the proper e-mail address.

If that doesn't work you'll need to email Lee and see if the engineers can correct it on the back end.

Good luck.

OK. I was able to create a new account,

using gmail. Maybe I should leave it at that, so if I ever change my email again, I won't have to go through this! Every thing is good now, except I'll have to create a new profile. Thanks alot for your help with this. Much appriciated.....Maggie
