Nov 7, 2014 11:42PM PST

I tried to uninstall flash player, trustedinstaller messed it up and now my flash player is not working and I cant re-install it cause only a single instance of this application can run.

I changed all rights of the computer to the user but it just changes them right back. What now? Id be very thankful for help, Ill flip if I cant play music soon...

Luckily, you only need iTunes or Windows Media Player or any other player to play music on a PC (of course, there are also cd players, walkmen, FM and cable radio, mp3-players/phones and "internet radio's"). Flash mostly is used for animations, games and movies.

- But now I'd first see if reboot helps.
- Then if System Restore works (back to before this unlucky incident).
- If not, and Trusted Installer still pops up, I'd see if I could run task manager as administrator and end the program.
- If no luck at all, it might be time to go back to factory conditions (start all over).

By the way, why did you uninstall flash if you seem to need it?

I mainly use Soundcloud and I already thought Youtube stopped working too but it was just crashing for the fun of it.

Reboot doesent help.
I dont have restoring point to go back to.
If you mean end Trusted Installer I cant see it on task manager and secondly I think it wouldnt allow me to. If you meant Flash its not running cause its half erased.
I guess that leaves me factory settings. Im gonna lose all my installed software right? What else is going to vanish?

So there is no way around TrustedInstaller? I found that on older windows there was a application you could download to get past it, is there a one for Win 8?

Yeah, I got impatient cause I didnt find where to update it to the latest so I thought Id just reinstall it. A jolly good choice that was.

Thank you for your time and effort, I appreciate it.

Indeed, a clean install like that will lose everything you put on it yourself after you bought it. Better have a VERY good backup.

I would check your startup files

and see if there is anything running starting with Flash. I believe it's called flashplayer.exe but not sure. If it is disable that

My last reply vanished.
Taskmanager doesent show anything that would run flash.
I dont have a big enough memory for back up... so I think Ill wait and try to find a way around this.

Thanks for help guys.
