Trump
Sep 9, 2017 8:42AM PDT

Many repubs do not like Trump.
He ran on the repub ticket but he did not adhere to the party line.

Taking that health care vote after CBO came out with the numbers put the repubs in a tough spot.
This was not going to be a symbolic vote this was the real thing.
I suspect there was more than a few senate types who wanted to vote NO but John had the courage to do it.

Most voters when they go to the polls don't have a clue what their voting for.
They heard some election spiel, liked what they heard and that's the way they vote.
They never ask themselves IS THIS DOABLE.

I think most people tend to only look for the "D" or "R"
Sep 9, 2017 12:04PM PDT

They don't even need to bother with putting any thought into the voting process. I'd like to see a controlled experiment where the R and D designations were reversed and then come back with the those designations in place but the policies put forth by each candidate was done in reverse. It would be fun to watch.

Ironically, he DID run on the party line
Sep 11, 2017 12:03AM PDT

and many Repubs who were up for re-election at the same time ran on the SAME agenda......WON and then voted AGAINST it when the time came. About the only thing they all agreed on was the SCOTUS nominee but other nominees have gotten hammered by their own party, which is why so many haven't been voted on even still.

HE isn't the hypocrite on what he ran on.....He just didn't realize the intense pushback he would get from those who actually ran on the same agenda just because he's Trump.

Except for these guys?....YOUR words.

From the start of Trump running McConnell repeatedly came out against Trump......plenty of sarcastic negative statements made publicly, and his reluctance to lead the party in a positive manner in the Senate has been obvious. He, along with McCain (who cast the final defeating vote for repeal) have been 'never Trumpers' from the start.

YOU realized the "pushback" TheRUMP would get...but HE didn't?

Is HE blind AND deaf and have no advisors/childminders?

Out of curiosity...Of all of the candidates
Sep 11, 2017 4:26AM PDT

who had their hat in the ring at one time or another, for whom do you think you'd vote for POTUS if the opportunity had presented? If you have a name in mind, can you tell what qualities in this person were found to be attractive? Just out of curiosity....

Are you talking to me? IF so...

I don't have a name in mind...

I'm in agreement with Bob_B....when he said They never ask themselves IS THIS DOABLE.

TheRUMP made promises for actions that were going to completed by other people or countries...NOW he's backpedaling complaining no one loves him....

During a campaign....Everyone starts out as a contender....Then they disqualify themselves by their actions and statements, until there is only one NOT disqualified person, THEY shall be called "elected"

Qualities I find attractive?

Honesty, truth in advertising.

TheRUMP is a LIAR,,,

So, as far as, knowing if something is doable....TheRUMP is the ONLY one that is being put to the test....and he's failing.

IF you weren't talking to me...Disregard this post.

So even YOU believe that hilLIARy
Sep 11, 2017 5:46AM PDT

was qualified and therefore you wouldn't have voted at all for either party?

Yes. This was directed to you JP Bill

I just thought that, instead of harping on the negatives of people you don't care for in US politics, you might like the opportunity to extol the virtues of someone you liked as a candidate in the past year's election. Would you care to do so? A "yes" or "no" is acceptable but I'd really like to see you not use everyone's post as another opportunity to bash.

You don't get elected if you do that.
Voters want to hear answers to their fears and desires.
Pols know this so they gear their election message that way.
It does not make any difference if it's all tripe as voters don't fact check.

Pushback
Sep 11, 2017 5:47AM PDT

Trump is in this for Trump.
He does not give a hoot about you/me/the country.
He has the I'm the boss mentality....what I say goes.
He will go in whatever direction he thinks is best for Trump.
I suspect the congress types have figured this out.

As for the party/ticket he ran on he had no choice.
He could not run as a dem or an indep, only one option left.

Explain to me
Sep 11, 2017 2:28PM PDT

what you think he's getting out of this, since he's so rich he didn't need any of the hassle in his life.........

I think if he had run as an Independent, he still would have won....just as Sanders would have won on the 'Dem' ticket although he's a registered Socialist Independent, if the Dems hadn't rigged it for the LIAR.

Getting out of this
Sep 11, 2017 6:27PM PDT

I have no idea.
Perhaps he did not like the restrictions or taxes on the Trump empire.
Perhaps he did not like the direction the earth was turning.
Some wealthy folks never have enough money, it's a quest for them.

When you have the I'm the boss mentality you chaff at things like laws, restrictions, taxes.
