Question

True TV energy efficiency

Jul 19, 2017 11:24PM PDT

Hi There,
Has anyone seen any articles or data showing more details on the energy efficiency controversy highlighted in the article below from 2016? It talks about power consumption being as high as " twice the levels that manufacturers reported".

Wanted to see if there was any update on this or any tables showing power consumption for the different TV models.

Keep in mind that the current HDTVs use far less electricity than most of the 5 year old models. And unless you keep it on all day long, the usage will be arguably nominal.

And while Plasma was terrific on display quality the power it used was enormous compared to today's LED LCD models.
