Question

Troubleshooting of LCD Monitor

Sep 9, 2017 8:13PM PDT

I've recently switched to a Dell D1918H Monitor, however when after making the necessary connection using the VGA cable and power cable I'm unable to start the device it's showing no signal. Since I'm unable to recieve a display I can't even change the input source. So how to deal with this problem?

. "Since I'm unable to recieve a display I can't even change the input source"

You shouldn't need a signal from anything to operate the options to change inputs. I just checked on my monitor and it's not dependent on a signal from the computer to change it's inputs. Are you sure it's got power? Does it say "no signal" or similar? Have you TRIED to change inputs using the controls on the monitor itself?

Some monitors will not give you an OSD if there is no input signal.

This monitor does not give me the option to select the input source it scans and auto selects.

If your old monitor works with this pc and cable then it would seem you have a monitor problem.

Test the monitor and cable on a different pc.
