Such can be annoying since CDRW drivers are still high failure items. But as a test, try CDBurnerXP. Use google.com to find it.
It's what I use.
I have a T23 Thinkpad with Win 2000 Professional 512Ram
. I am using the IBM Record Now software for my IBM CD-RW/DVD. Untily just recently it was writing from files and CDs just fine although it would often pop up the window that it was not able to complete the writing process....then I would eject the CD as see that it actually did finish burning. So I have been able to burn text and photos with past success.
Now, however, it will not complete the wrting...nor burning. I have followed the help suggestions of shutting down firewalls and virus scans and all other programs. No change. This CD-RW/DVD runs at 16 X. I have tried manually setting it at 16X, 10X and 4X as well as "no restriction on speed" with the same results. Is there another software that is compatible with this IBM product. I have loaded Nero..but it appears uncompatible with the hardware.
