Trouble with typing in Word

Oct 21, 2004 9:13AM PDT

While I am typing letters in Word, I find the letters hesitate before they appear on the screen. It takes about 1 to 2 seconds before the word will appear. Also as I scroll it also hesitates.

I don't know how to correct this.

Your help is appreciated.

Thanks

Ted

To see if the problem is in Word: go into Explorer, search for files called normal.dot and delete all of them.
To see if the problem is other programs running go into Task Manager (ctrl-alt-del in Windows XP)and see if any other program (except 'idle') is using a significant percentage of the CPU-time.

Hope this helps.

In Word, check under Tools/Preferences/Save to make sure that the Allow Fast Saves feature is NOT checked.

Also, it is a good idea to not have Word open when using Eudora or a web browser. That can affect performance such as keystroke response.

I use MS word 2000 and instead I have to select Tools/Options/Save.

Hope this helps.

To Caktus,

Thank you very much...I unchecked allow fast saves in options and presto....I am typing hesitating free. I knew someone would come up with a solution for my computer question.

Thanks again...
